Earth's Weather and Climate

 Constructed Response Questions:

Ans (i):

Ans (ii):

Climate of Different Zones:

Tropical Zone:

Tropical zone has hot climate because the sun rays fall vertically on this zone.

Temperate Zone:

Temperate zone has mild climate because the sun rays fall slantly on this zone.

Polar Zone:

Polar zone has the coldest climate because the sun are more slanted and less on this zone.

Ans (iii):

With the rise of height from sea level the climate becomes cooler while water bodies make climate of adjacent area is mild this is the reason that the temperature of Skardu, a city of Gilgit Baltistan is below zero degree centigrade while the temperature of Karachi is mild.

Ecosystem

 Constructed Response Questions:

Ans:

Biodiversity includes all ecosystems. Self-sustaining and durable ecosystem is called balanced ecosystem. All organisms in an ecosystem. All organisms in an ecosystem depend upon each other for their food, protection and shelter. All organisms in an ecosystem depend upon each other for their food, protection and shelter. They make a food web. If one part of a food web is disturbed, all of the other organisms are affected. For example, if the plants in a food web are destroyed the animals that eat the plants will not survive. All other animals that depend on the plant eating animals will also find it difficult to survive.
Competition occurs when more than one organism tries to use the same limited resources. If a lot of organisms compete for the same limited resources, it is difficult for each organism to obtain the resources they need. Only organisms that can get the needed resources will survive. For example, if too many plants compete for sunlight in a ecosystem, only plants that get enough sunlight will survive. This competition among living things in a balanced ecosystem affects the biodiversity because all organisms depend upon each other in biodiversity.
